'The K1 clinical process' involves Nurse Practitioner supervised, extended time-interval light sub-anaesthetic dissociative experiences. One element of the 'K1 clinical process' was synthesised in the 1960s and was approved for anaesthesia in 1970 after clinical trials demonstrated safety and efficacy. It is widely used everyday in hospitals and ERs and is on the World Health Organization's "List of Essential Medicines." It is now being used off-label to treat all types of pain including EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHIC PAIN. It has an excellent 50 year track record of safety as a widely used approved anaesthetic and off-label pain reliever. Many Anaesthetists, Emergency Physicians and Pain Specialists agree that when titrated carefully, it's 'THE BEST OFF-LABEL PAIN RELIEVER THAT WE HAVE' and through a variety of mechanisms may also help reduce dependence on prescribed medicines, benzodiazepines, opioids, alcohol, other potentially harmful and addictive substances that act as 'mood props'.
The exact mechanism of how the 'the K1 clinical process' works for emotional and psychic pain is not fully known. (We still don't know how anaesthetics work either after 175 years). However, we do know that it works on the NMDA receptor to block the glutamate neurotransmitter. Research over the last few decades has showing it improves the health of the neurons (brain cells) by increasing the connection between the neurons and improving the brain’s ability to adapt (aka neuroplasticity).
It also changes the way the central nervous system processes pain, so it’s like rebooting your computer, to restore normal pain processing. Research is also showing in animal models, the potential for it to increase resilience and recovery from stressful traumatic events which can trigger or cause depression and anxiety disorders.
Furthermore, it decreases activity in the Default Mode Network (DMN) of the brain, which is more active in those with depression, anxiety, and chronic pain.
It may be for you if you suffer significant psychological distress. Many who have not found relief from traditional medications often benefit, which may also help for those with troublesome side effects of these approved traditional treatments. Seriously unhelpful thinking, cognitive dissonance and associated cognitive distortions, twist the everyday joy and rewards of simply being into daily torment and suffering. If you've exhausted conventional therapy then a personalised clinical trial of 4 or 5 x titrated low-dose dissociative experiences will be enough to discover if it can help you.
The fact that lab rats refuse to go back for second doses and the addiction problem is far less than all other substances gives us the answer. There is a long proven track record of being a safe approved anaesthetic since 1970. It is part of the List of Essential Medications the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends to have in every hospital. Furthermore, addiction has not actually been found to complicate this low dose therapy when received at extended time-intervals in a tightly controlled clinical setting with a medical professional. There are multiple research papers suggesting that it is very effective in overcoming addiction to other substances eg alcohol, opioids, benzos, nicotine.
Low-dose and infrequently administered therapy is VERY DIFFERENT to the extreme doses, duration, intention, mindset, setting, and method which individuals abuse on the street. K1 Revival Clinic titrates a very light conscious sedation and the associated dissociative experience is quite subdued. Substance abusers would consider the doses offered for clinical treatment extremely WEAK and of no interest! (ie less than 5% of an abusers quantity)
No, however, you will need to provide a personal health history with details of diagnosis and past treatments from from your primary care, pain specialist, psychiatrist, or therapist. You will be required to continue regular ongoing contact with them during and after your 'classified' treatments. We may contact them or the Monitored Medicines Unit to confirm details before we schedule your appointment.
YES ABSOLUTELY! We are serving in a outsourced specialist capacity to provide this new promising treatment in a controlled clinical setting and recommend to continue seeing your usual GP, Psychiatrist or therapist.
Three main reasons relate to medical practitioners level of: 1) AWARENESS of this promising new treatment , 2) KNOWLEDGE of the current compelling evidence-base, and 3) clinical CONFIDENCE of administering dissociative anaesthetic. Outside of anaesthetists and emergency room doctors, few other medical practitioners are comfortable with administering this treatment. Many doctors are not educated on the latest clinical trial research, and only recognize it as an anaesthetic or an illegal street drug that poses risk of a downward spiral. While there are some doctors who don’t know about this treatment, there are others who are ingrained to the current traditional model of treatment and not ready to accept this novel treatment. Medical Practitioners are generally conservative, and understandably tend to stick to traditional treatment algorithms even in the face of a growing evidence-base. 'The K1 clinical process' induces adaptations that are noticed subjectively and objectively. Volumetric and functional changes are evident with advanced neuroimaging techniques. There have been several double-blinded randomized control trials with reproducible beneficial results to date. The treatment has support by Translational Neuroscientists, Researchers, Academicians and Clinicians but the ideal clinical care model has not yet been fully established but will likely require supervision by an Anaesthetist, which is our clinical model.
The sedation level is similar to that from one or two glasses of champagne. A warm, comfortable, light and fluffy psychedelic dreamlike state and perhaps slightly dissociated with a subdued out-of-body experience only. A few may feel like they have short lasting changes in time perception, thought process, vision, coordination and or speech. If you experience unwanted sensations or unpleasant hallucinations, we may decrease the amount of the medication the following treatment session to minimise these experiences. Remember, there will always be a healthcare professional close by making sure you are safe and well taken care of during your treatment.
For some people they can experience positive effects within an hour. For others, they will not notice an effect until after their fourth or fifth treatment. Commonly the effect is gradual and subtle, noticing thoughts of sadness and hopelessness begin to lift and go away. Occasionally some people may have a dramatic effect. Function (going out, doing things you enjoy, work) improve before mood does. With improved function you are able to more fully participate and engage in your treatment plan and your usual therapist thus improving your success rate!
If you are experiencing the following: Uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension); Unstable heart disease (arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, chest pain etc.); Untreated thyroid disease; Active substance abuse; Active manic phase of bipolar disorder; Active delusions and hallucination symptoms (not on meds or while taking street drugs). If you have any of the above, unfortunately you will not be able to receive 'the K1 clinical process' until stable.
NO. 'the K1 clinical process' can affect your ability to drive, so it is preferred a trusted friend or family member picks you up from your appointments. We also recommend refraining from operating heavy machinery, caring for small children, participating in strenuous activities, or signing or entering into any legal contracts for at least a day after your treatment.
If you are unable to find a friend or family member to transport your home, we will allow for you to take a ridesharing service or taxi home. However, we require you to stay longer after your treatment.

As a registered anaesthetic since 1970 it has been administered safely to billions of patients in controlled clinical settings and is on the World Health Organisations list of essential medicines.
